Safety Tips When Using an Electric Space Heater

Here are some safety tips to follow when using an electric space heater:
o If you need to utilize an extension cord for your electric space heater, make sure the extension cord you will choose is heavy duty. It should be marked with a No. 14 wire gauge or even larger. A smaller or incorrectly sized cord may possibly cause fire. If the plug of the electric space heater comes with a grounding prong, make sure to use a grounding extension cord only.
o Never ever run the cord of the electric space heater under a carpet or rug.
o Never leave the electric space heater unattended or operating while you are sleeping. Electric space heaters are designed to be used only as supplemental or temporary heating system and should be used only when attended.
o To prevent electrocutions and electrical shocks, always keep your electric space heater away from water. Never touch you electric space heater with wet hands.
